Ages of Conflict on Mobile: What the Official Listings Say

Ages of Conflict has official apps for Android and for iPhone and iPad. The developer announced them on August 10, 2023, linking both stores from its devlog (post). This page reads those two listings line by line and adds what the developer has said about mobile since. Every point links to the page it came from. Prices are deliberately left out; they sit in one place, Is Ages of Conflict free?. We have not tested the full version ourselves, on phones or elsewhere; details below come from the developer's store pages and posts.

How the listings describe the app

Both pages reuse the Steam text: an AI simulation "with high customization" featuring alliances, revolts and puppet states, plus a map creator and God Mode tools, with premade maps and scenarios. The App Store adds a "World Building" paragraph about history and statistics. The listings do not say which desktop features are missing on mobile. Developer posts mention a few mobile-specific points:

  • No Steam Workshop. "The mobile version won't have Steam Workshop support", and the developer still recommended the PC version to anyone choosing one (2023-08-10).
  • Saving became free on mobile in v2.4.2 (2023-10-29), and a fix for loading the full version after purchase came in v2.4.4 (v2.4.2, v2.4.4).
  • The v3.1.1 notes mention mobile joysticks for camera dragging in the city pop-up, and the App Store notes for 4.1.1 add a menu button to the scenario editor for mobile (v3.1.1, App Store version history). That points to a scenario editor being present in the app.
  • On Steam, v4.3.3 (2025-11-25) is described as "mainly for the mobile version", with few desktop changes (Steam announcement).
  • A winning entry in a June 2026 community map contest is tagged "(Mobile only)" in the Steam announcement, which does not explain the tag.

Data declarations

These are the developer's own answers to each store's privacy form, not our findings. The App Store lists location, identifiers, usage data and diagnostics as data that may be used to track you, and names third-party advertising among the purposes. Google Play says the app may collect and share location, app activity and two other types, encrypts data in transit, and that data can't be deleted. The developer's mobile privacy policy calls the app "a Freemium app" (policy).

Browser on a phone

The itch.io page lists inputs as keyboard and mouse and does not list touch. It says nothing about running the browser demo on a phone. Our browser troubleshooting guide covers loading problems on desktop browsers.

Where the sources disagree

  • Languages. The App Store's language field shows English only, but its own version history says Japanese was added in 4.0.6 and Korean in 4.4.0. Which languages the iOS app offers is unclear.
  • Version labels. The App Store's 4.3.3 entry (dated 11/24/2025) repeats the notes that itch.io and Steam give for v4.3.2 (2025-11-12/13); Steam's own v4.3.3 post is a different, mobile-focused update. See Updates.

Not stated by the developer

  • The minimum Android version and device list (not in the listing data we could read).
  • What the in-app purchases unlock on each store, beyond the App Store item's name.
  • How the ads appear in either app.

What we did not test

We did not install or play either app, and we did not try the browser demo on a phone or tablet. We did not buy the full version on any platform. Nothing here is a hands-on observation; it is a reading of the listings and developer posts above.

A note on APKs from other sites

This is a safety suggestion, not a test result. Files from outside the official stores are not checked by the developer or the stores, so install the Android app from the Google Play listing above. This site links to no APK sources.
